December Bride Trivia:

December Bride inspired a "spin-off" series titled, "Pete and Gladys" which starred Harry Morgan as Pete Porter and Cara Williams as his wife Gladys.

The reason that there's no Gladys Porter character listed above is that she never appeared on December Bride. She was often referred to by Pete who lived right next door to the main characters, but she never actually appeared. She was a main character on the spin-off though.

December Bride was produced at Desilu Studios which was owned by Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz of "I Love Lucy" fame!

Verna Felton has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! She did the voices for many popular Disney characters including "Gossipy Elephant" in "Dumbo", "Fairy Godmother" in "Cinderella", "Queen of Hearts" in "Alice in Wonderland", "Aunt Sarah" in "Lady and the Tramp", "Flora" in "Sleeping Beauty", and "Winifred" in "The Jungle Book". Ironically, she died on December 14, 1966 from a stroke and Walt Disney died from a heart attack (following lung surgery) on the vert next day!

CBS aired reruns of December Bride during the 1960/1961 season. In addition to the popularity of the five season series, that was probably also done to promote Pete and Gladys which premiered that season.

Besides "December Bride" and "Pete and Gladys", Harry Morgan had several other great roles including "Senator Clements" on "The Richard Boone Show", "Officer Bill Gannon" on both "Dragnet (1951)" and "Dragnet (1967)", "Colonel Sherman T. Potter" on "M*A*S*H*", and "Doctor Sherman Potter" on "AfterMASH".
