Medium Cast

Series Description

The Medium TV show was a 60 minute dramatic fantasy series on NBC about a typical soccer mom who also happened to be able to see and talk to dead people. She used her gifts to assist the district attorney's office in solving crimes (usually murders) with very little hard evidence. Her duties often conflicted with her family life but the good she did was so important that her husband and children made whatever sacrifices were necessary to be supportive.

Medium Trivia

Patricia Arquette's character, "Allison Dubois" is based upon a real-life woman named Allison Dubois who claims to be be able to speak to the dead!

While Patricia Arquette has numerous movie roles to her credit, the Medium TV show is the first series where she's appeared as a regular cast member.

Allison Dubois has a dream about playing craps in Las Vegas in episode #27, "Method to his Madness". The casino employees' name tags in her dream have the Montecito Resort & Casino insignia on them. The Montecito is the casino on the NBC series, "Las Vegas" that aired right before Medium!

Jake Weber who plays Patricia's husband on the Medium TV show has also starred on the series, "The Mind of the Married Man", "American Gothic", and "Something Wilder".

When the Medium TV show premiered on January 3rd of 2005, it had to compete with "CSI: Miami" on CBS and "Monday Night Football" on ABC.

Patricia Arquette definitely comes from a "show biz" family. Her father, Lewis Arquette, has appeared in more than 100 credited roles in movies and on television. He also has done voices for many cartoon series. Patricia's sister Rosanna has nearly caught up with dad with nearly 100 credited roles. Her brothers Alexis ("Beggars and Choosers") and David both have exceeded 60 credited roles, and brother Richmond has about 40! Patricia's grandfather, Cliff Arquette created a character named "Charlie Weaver" for the Jack Paar Show and it became so popular that he was later invited to guest-star on other series as that character. Grandpa Cliff also portrayed a very funny "Mrs. Butterworth" in TV commercials! And, of course, Patricia's brother David married Courtney Cox ("Friends", making her Patricia's sister-in-law.
