America's Got Talent Trivia:
The sound that's heard when the judges "check" an act is the same one that was used when spins were passed on the game show "Press Your Luck" and the one heard when a contestant guesses wrong on the "Family Feud" game show. America's Got Talent is produced by Simon Cowell who also has produced "Cupid (2003)", "Celebrity Duets" and "American Inventor". He's without a doubt best known to the general public as the frank, no-nonsense judge on "American Idol". David Hasselhoff got his fame from his roles on the series "Knight Rider" and "Baywatch". He is also a huge singing star in Germany. Most viewers probably first saw Sharon Osbourne on her family's reality show, "The Osbournes" or on the ninth season of "The Apprentice". Piers Morgan actually won the seventh season of "The Apprentice"! He is a huge star in Great Britain and has hosted numerous TV series there. Piers' career took a big leap forward in September of 2010 when CNN announced that he would take over when Larry King retires as their prime time celebrity interviewer! Composers Jos Jorgensen and Andy Love won a BMI TV Music Award for America's Got Talent in 2009. Twenty other series also received that award including two other reality shows, "The Amazing Race" and "The Bachelor". On the first live show in the summer of 2010 it was stated that the winner of season five would star in a show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas titled, "America's Got Talent Live". The season five finalists would also appear in the show and Jerry Springer would serve as host.
