Series Description

The Emergency TV show was a 60 minute drama series on NBC about the men who worked at Station #51 of the Los Angeles Fire Department. It mainly focused on the daring rescues made by the two paramedics working from the station. The show was based on actual "911" calls.

Emergency Trivia:

The Emergency TV show was produced by Jack Webb, best known as the star of the 1951 original Dragnet TV series.

Julie London was married to fellow Emergency cast member Bobby Troup. In an earlier marriage, London was married to Jack Webb. Bobby Troup was a bandleader before becoming an actor.

The fact that it lasted 5 years really says something about the Emergency TV show. "All In the Family" and "M*A*S*H" were competing for the same time slot as Emergency!

Emergency was based on the paramedic program that started in Los Angeles, California in 1969. Senator Alan Cranston actually praised the show for informing the public about the value of funding such programs!

Robert Fuller starred in two series prior to Emergency, "Wagon Train" and "Laramie".
