Wife Swap is a 60 minute reality series on ABC about about two couples typically from different social and economic backgrounds who swap moms. The couples always have different ideas about how to run a household and raise kids. That produces a lot of conflict but also sometimes opens the eyes of one or both couples to the fact that their lifestyles might have room for improvement.

Wife Swap Trivia:

ABC announced Wife Swap several months before its premiere episode. Then FOX premiered a series titled, "Trading Spouses" which was pretty much a clone of Wife Swap. RDF Media who produced both the British and American versions of Wife Swap accused FOX of stealing their idea for the show. FOX responded that networks and production companies borrow ideas from each other all the time and that CBS was just mad because FOX beat them to broadcast in the U.S.!
