Series Description

The One Tree Hill TV show is a 60 minute drama series on the WB Network (now the CW Network) about two half-brothers who share the same father; live in the town of Tree Hill, North Carolina; go to the same high school; and play on the same basketball team. Otherwise, their lives couldn't be more different! Confident and egotistical Nathan has everything a young man could desire. Money, prestige, and a father who adores him. Lucas, on the other hand, has grown up on the wrong side of the tracks, literally ignored by his father. Now they compete with each other for everything ... girls, sports, and the approval of their peers.

One Tree Hill Trivia

For the first four seasons One Tree Hill focused on the High School lives of the main characters. When the fifth season premiered they were suddenly four years older and graduated from college. At the beginning of the seventh season they were fourteen months older than they were at the end of the sixth season.

Every episode except the pilot are titled after punk rock songs or albums as a reference to Peyton's involvement in the rock music industry. The title of this series was also derived from a song titled "One Tree Hill" on U2's "The Joshua Tree" album.

The One Tree Hill pilot episode attracted 2 1/2 million viewers and then the second episode drew an audience of 3.3 million! Typically, ratings drop from episode one to episode two. Apparently fans liked the first episode and/or its competitors didn't do as well. "According to Jim" and "Less Than Perfect" were on ABC, the final season of "The Guardian" on CBS and the final season of "Frasier" on NBC.

During the first season of One Tree Hill Nathan was shown several times with a ring in his left nipple. James Lafferty didn't actually have a piercing, the ring was simply glued on whenever he was shown without a shirt.

There was confusion as to whether One Tree Hill would be renewed for a ninth season but finally on May 17, 2011 the announcement was made that a ninth and final season would have a delayed premiere date in January of 2012.

Haley James Scott's father's nickname was Jimmy. That means that his full birth name was "James James". No wonder he went by a nickname!
