Heroes Trivia

Episodes of the Heroes TV show were identical in structure to comic book super-hero stories. There were many short storylines that when combined highlighted the struggle between good and evil.

Heroes gave a nice boost to several of the regular cast member's careers! Nearly all of them have gone on to star in numberous movies. On the small screen you can currently (2011) catch Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder Suresh) on the series, "Covert Affairs" and Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura) on "Hawaii Five-0".
Heroes began as a highly critically acclaimed series with interesting storylines that attracted a large audience. The first season drew an average of 14.3 million viewers per episode making it the highest rated drama series on NBC in five years! By the ninth episode the audience grew to over 16 million! The second season did nearly as well as the first but in season three the scripts became less interesting and the number of viewers dropped to almost half the previous season's numbers. A further drop in viewership during season four lead to cancellation of the series.

When Heroes aired in Germany, of course the English was dubbed into German. Interestingly, when Hiro and Ando spoke Japanese or when Maya and Alejandro spoke Spanish, there were no subtitles like in the U.S. and other English speaking nations. They simply dubbed those conversations into German too.

Heroes was one of the first TV series to utilize the internet in promoting the show. Short online videos detailed insights into the characters that were not revealed on the air. There was also original viewing online in the form of webisodes.

Merchandising was also used to generate additional income and to promote the series. There were Heroes magazines, Heroes action figures, a mobile Heroes video game, a Heroes novel and even clothing.

You may have noticed that many of the characters on Heroes had biblical names. For example "Adam", "Eden", "Gabriel", "Isaac", "Matt (Matthew)", "Micah", "Nathan", "Noah" and "Peter"!
