Series Description

Drop Dead Diva is a 60 minute dramatic comedy series with a basis in fantasy on Lifetime about a beautiful fashion model who has nothing going for her but her looks who is killed in a car crash and then comes back to life as a smart, overweight attorney.

Drop Dead Diva Trivia:

The pilot for Drop Dead Diva was originally ordered by FOX but they rejected the series and then Lifetime picked it up.

Josh Berman who created Drop Dead Diva found out that tennis star Serena Williams was a huge fan of the show so he asked her if she would like to join the cast for episode #45, "Rigged". When she accepted, Berman had the writers compose a part written especially for her.

Berman named the "Deb Hobkins" character played by actress Brooke D'Orsay after his grandmother who he stated, "inspired the entire series".
