Series Description

Storm Chasers is a 60 minute reality TV series on the Discovery Channel about people who are strongly attracted to the most violent storms on Earth! They chase after tornadoes throughout the midwestern United States' "Tornado Alley" that can reach wind speeds exceeding 300 miles per hour. In addition to seeking the thrill, these enthusiasts also collect information about the storms that they hope will improve forecasting and increase the amount of warning they can give to the public.

Storm Chasers Trivia

While most of the Storm Chasers' episodes take place in "Tornado Alley" in the midwestern U.S., a few have also been filmed in the Southeastern U.S. in the tornado-ridden area called, "Dixie Alley".

Sean Casey and Reed Timmer were on the eighth season episode of another Discovery Channel reality series titled, "Mythbusters". The episode was titled, "Storm Chasing Myths" and tested Sean and Steve's TIV 2 and Dominator to see if they could really survive wind speeds of up to 250 miles per hour. A jet engine was used to generate the high winds.
