Series Description:

Ren and Stimpy was a 30 minute animated kids TV show on Nickelodeon about the adventures of a hyper-active chihuahua and a brainless cat. Their behavior including "magic nose goblins", intelligent farts, and a lot of spitting disgusted most adults but delighted its adolescent viewers.

The Ren and Stimpy theme song title was "Dog Pound Hop."

Nickelodeon initially approached John Kricfalusi (Ren's Voice) to develop a cartoon series for them. At the time, John's two main characters were George Liquor and Jimmy the Idiot Boy. (They were Ren and Stimpy's owners). He didn't want to risk losing the rights to those characters, so he developed the series around Ren and Stimpy. John turned out to be smart about his decision because as soon as Ren and Stimpy became a hit, Nickelodeon fired him out from under the show!

John Kricfalusi and Nickelodeon had been arguing quite a bit about budget and artistic differences before John was fired. John had an interesting way of dealing with cases where he felt that his work was compromised by producers, editors, or networks. Instead of using his real name in the credits for those pieces of work, he'd use the pseudonym, "Raymond Spum".
