Full House Cast

Series Description

The Full House TV show was a 30 minute situation comedy series on ABC about a man who must raise his three little daughters alone after his wife was killed by a drunk driver. In order to provide his girls with more love and attention, he has his comedian best friend and rock musician brother-in-law to move in with them. As the series continues, the brother-in-law marries and has two children (twins) of his own making the household literally a "Full House" with nine persons and a pet dog all living together by the final season.

Full House Theme Song

Title: "Everywhere You Look"

By: "Jesse Frederick"

What ever happened to predictibility?
The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV.
Everywhere you look , everywhere you go (there's a heart).
There's a heart
A hand to hold onto.
Everywhere you look , everywhere you go.
There's a face
Of somebody who needs you.
Eveywhere you look,
When you're lost out there and you're all alone,
A light is waiting to carry you home,
Everywhere you look.
Everywhere you look.

Full House Trivia

This series was originally supposed to be titled, "House of Comics". The Full House Cast would have been composed of three single comedians living under one roof and the storylines would have been more adult in nature. The producers decided that they wanted the show to be more family-oriented, however, so the show added the girls and changed the main cast from swinging single guys to a dad, his friend, and uncle Jesse.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen appeared in many projects together including two other popular TV series, "Two of a Kind" and "So Little Time". They shared the role of Michelle Tanner on Full House due to laws about how much time small children can work in a week. They were cast partly because they were the only twins that didn't cry during the audition. The producers did not want audiences to realize that Michelle Tanner was played by two children so they listed them in the credits as "Mary-Kate Ashley Olsen" until the final season where they finally got separate billing. By the age of six, they were noticeably becoming different in appearance and the network wanted to choose just one (Mary-Kate) to continue in the role. John Stamos objected, however, and they both stayed on as the stars of Full House. Actually, the twins could be told apart from birth. If you look closely, you can see that Ashley had a freckle above her lip.

Bob Saget appeared on an episode of "The Dating Game" in 1979 as one of three bachelor contestants and the bachelorette chose him!

Michelle, Nicky, and Alex all had the same birthday! Apparently, you either like Bob's comedy ... or you don't! Critics have often referred to him as "The Best Comedian Ever" and others have called him "The Worst Comedian Ever". You can't please everyone!

During the first season, John Stamos' character's last name was Cochran. It was changed to Katsopolis in the second season to pay homage to John's Greek ancestry. (His ancestral last name was "Stamotopoulos" but his grandparents shortened it to Stamos when they came to the U.S.) Originally, John's character's first name was to have been "Adam". John said he liked Jesse better and the producers agreed.

The new network "The WB" actually wanted to buy Full House from ABC and run it for a ninth season to help draw audiences to their line-up with an established series. John Stamos did not like the idea of being dropped by a major network and moving to an unproven one so he announced that he would not sign with the WB for another season. Candace Cameron then announced that she was going to college and wasn't interested either. After that, the other Full House Cast and writers all turned down the offer too.

Lori Loughlin was originally only hired to join the cast for six episodes on Full House where she would be Danny's co-host and then go out on one date with him. After much thought, they would have both agree to keep their relationship on a professional level and Lori would have gone on to other roles. Audiences liked her character so much that they decided to make her Jesse's love interest and, well, the rest is history! By the way, John Stamos (Jesse) and Lori did date for a while in real life!

Dave Coulier's last name is pronounced "Cool-Yay". He is a member of the Celebrity All-Stars hockey squad and his teammates include Richard Dean Anderson ("MacGyver" / "Stargate SG1"), Michael J. Fox ("Family Ties" / "Spin City"), Michael Keaton, Matthew Perry ("Friends"), Jason Priestly ("Beverly Hills 90210"), and Alan Thicke ("Growing Pains"). Dave also does a lot of voiceover work. He began doing numerous miscellaneous voices on Hanna-Barbera's "Scooby and Scrappy-Doo" and the re-syndicated version of "The Jetsons". He portrayed "Animal", "Dr. Bunsen Honeydew", Bean Bunny, Waldorf, and Statler on the series, "Muppet Babies". Dave also did the voice of "Peter Venkman" on "The Real Ghost Busters" (the character that Bill Murray played in the movies).
