Commander-in-Chief Trivia:

You might look at the air dates below for Commander-In-Chief and wonder, "Why only eight episodes ... one week off ... one week back ... five weeks off ... three weeks back ... and then nearly 3 months off? Well, ABC wasn't commited to an entire season. Ratings bounced up and down for the first few weeks so the network wasn't encouraging in their discussions with Commander-In-Chief producers early on. Therefore, production of the episodes slowed/stopped. Eventually, ABC ordered a full season of episodes. Between the late word from ABC and numerous production delays, the episodes just never quite got "caught up" with the time slots they needed to fill. So after a few breaks to give production the time they needed, it was finally decided to stop airing episodes in January of 2006, turn over production to veteran producer Steven Bochco ("NYPD Blue" and "L.A. Law"), and come back in April to ensure that no further "catch up" breaks would be needed. By the way, series creator Rod Lurie who had been serving as producer has remained with the show.

The exterior shots of Air Force Two in the pilot episode were taken from the 1997 movie, "Air Force One"!

Geena Davis is outstanding in her role on Commander-In-Chief but she has had the lead on a series before. The "Geena Davis Show" was a sitcom that aired for the 2000/2001 season. She had another series five years before that which was called, "Sara" but it only lasted a few months. Geena auditioned for a cast member spot on "Saturday Night Live" in 1984 and didn't get hired. Happily, she had gained sufficient fame to host the show five years later on April 22, 1989.
