Brooklyn Nine-Nine Trivia

In a very rare move for a crime comedy series, the main cast was given basic police and firearm training before shooting began!

Andy Samberg was not originally cast for his role on Brooklyn-Nine-Nine but when he left "Saturday Night Live" after a seven season run, they grabbed him right up!

Fox was eager to buy Brooklyn Nine-Nine after hearing the concept for the series. Creators Michael Schur and Daniel J. Goor pitched it as detectives who would interact in a way that is similar to the characters on "The Office" or "Parks and Recreation". It sounded almost like a sure winner!

Apparently, Fox executives chose wisely in their decision to take on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. For its first season the show won a Golden Globe for "Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy" and Andy Samberg won another for "Best Actor - Television Series Musical or Comedy"!

The police station you see during the transitions from one scene to another is a real one in Brooklyn. It's the 78th precinct located at 6th and Bergen.
