Series Description

The Banyon TV show was a 60 minute detective drama series on NBC about a private investigator in the 1930s who would take on pretty much any case as long as the client could pay.

Miles Banyon's fee for his services was $20 per day which was a reasonably substantial amount of money in the 1930s depression era.

The Banyon TV show had some decent competition in its 10:00 to 11:00PM time slot on Friday nights. ABC was airing "Love, American Style" and on CBS viewers were watching the last half of the "ABC Friday Night Movie".

Abby Graham was a nightclub singer and Banyon's love interest. Abby was obviously madly in love with Banyon and persistently tried to convince him to settle down, get married, and have kids. Banyon would never have anything to do with that although he did seem to truly care about Abby.

Peggy Revere ran a secretarial school in the building where Banyon had his office and she regularly supplied him with free secretaries. The girls got training and Banyon got free help! The secretaries were from different backgrounds but almost always young and pretty.
