A candle burning in the dark, a sudden gust of wind and a spooky voice saying "Lights OUT!" Scared me up the stairs on I think Friday nights during the early 50's. What was this show?
We had a TV that had a big, round piece of glass that magnified the screen so you could actually see the image. Anyone else remember these? |

You're talking about the Lights Out TV Show. Four episodes aired in 1946 in New York City only and then the series went nationwide from 1949-1952 for 160 total episodes.

I'm just a few years too young to remember the type of TV set you mentioned but I sure do remember our first color TV! Once Bonanza started airing in color, everyone had to get one. That NBC Peacock was pretty impressive the first time you saw it!
