I am trying to locate a copy of the "Your Show of Shows" episode where Imogene Coca performs "The Bell Song" from the opers "Lakme".
I am interested in either a VHS of this episode or an audio tape of the aria.
Please email me with any information on obtaining this.
Thanks in advance.

There is very little detailed information available on "Your Show of Shows".
The only information I could find about your question mostly just confirms that such a performance does still exist in someone's collection.
Sometime during 2001, the Smithsonian presented a program of NBC-TV shows from the 1950s, including a "Your Show of Shows" episode. It included a sketch with Imogene Coca performing the "Bell Song".
Perhaps the Smithsonian actually maintains a print of that episode. I did a very fast check at their site and didn't find anything but a more intensive search or contacting them via email, snail mail, or phone might produce better results.
Good Luck on your quest! |
