One sitcom that ran successfully for 6 years from 1998 to 2004 was the Becker Television Series. This particular medical comedy showed John Becker who owned a very small practice in the suburbs of the Bronx and the story revolved around how his patients consistently drove him up a wall. The story line did not just talk about how his patients drove him mad, but how just about everything ranging from his co-workers to friends and every other single thing in this world made him crazy with annoyance.

The Becker Television Series definitely was a series that allowed the audience to unwind with after a day of really strenuous work and in many ways it actually reflected how many of us truly feel towards our boss, the rush hour traffic, and everything else that triggers our irritable streak, thus making this particular sitcom a show which with everyone could identify.

The Becker Television Series was broadcast on CBS and was produced by Paramount Television. This series featured Ted Danson in the lead role as Dr. John Becker. The other regular roles that were showcased throughout the series were Hattie Winston as Margaret Wyborn, Shawnee Smith as Linda and Alex Desert as Jake Malinak. Terry Farrell acted as Regina from 98 2002, Nancy Travis as Chris Connor from 2002 2004, Saverio Guerrra as Bob from 98 2003 and Jorge Garcia as Hector Lopez for one year from 2003 2004.

For the first four seasons the main characters who starred on the Becker Television Series were John Becker, Margaret Wyborn, Linda, Regina Kostas Jake Malinak, and Bob. Chris Connor and Hector Lopez were new characters that were added for seasons five and six. Though the actual story line revolved around Dr. Becker and the things that annoyed him, his relationship with Reggie also came into the limelight as a plot and the other characters also got their share of attention from time to time.

The Becker Television Series was rated among the top twenty shows for its first two seasons but the popularity was not to last past five seasons. It was rated No. 18 in its first season and remained fairly consistent at No. 19 for season two. Things actually improved slightly during seasons four and five when the show rose to position 16 and 13 respectively. The fifth and the sixth season, however, saw disaster when Becker fell to No. 47 and 46!

The first season was premiered on the 2nd of November in 1998 and came to an end on the 17th of May the following year. Season 2 premiered on the 20th of September 1999 and concluded on the 22nd of May 2000. The remaining four seasons were premiered during October each year; the third season by October 2000, fourth by October 2001, fifth by October 2002 and the sixth by October 2003. The end of the sixth and the final season was marked on the 28th of January 2004.

If you have missed the Becker Television Series, you certainly don't have to worry because each and every season of Becker is now available on Dvd. If you need that laugh after a hard and gruesome work day, make certain you watch Becker.

yea, i'm a big fan of Becker. Ted Danson is absolutely great in this show! He's refreshingly hilarious and I also love Shawnee Smith who played the alluring Linda. This was a great show back then, it has the very idealistic plot. Been attached to this show and forever will be! I encourage anyone who hasn't seen the show to watch it! I'm pretty sure you won't regret it!
