All seven of the stars who portrayed children on "The Waltons" will reunite tonight in Jersey City, New Jersey to watch their pilot movie "The Homecoming" that aired nearly 40 years ago on December 19, 1971!
It will be the first time that they've all gathered together in 30 years! Wouldn't you love to be there? |

| The Waltons was such a sweet show. It taught good moral values in an entertaining way and promoted loving relations among family members. I miss it! |

| The Mother on the Waltons Michael Learned seems so different in the Family reunions sort of quiet and not the Mother of those children that is portrayed in the series. Why? Even her looks are different? Is she ill? |

She's 72-years-old now versus 42 when the series ended and 56 when the reunion special aired. That may account for some of the difference in appearance and level of enthusiasm.
Also, we fans tend to forget that actors are not their characters. Even some of those who play murderers or action heroes are actually quite reserved in real life.
I haven't heard anything about her having unusual health problems. Her last credited acting roles were 14 episodes on "The Young and the Restless" in 2011 so she was healthy enough to work fairly recently.
Hopefully since then she's simply been enjoying her golden years.
Anyone else heard anything about her in 2012? |
