Four and a half years ago Veronica Mars left the TV schedule and fans have been begging for a return ever since. Kristen Bell who played the hotshot lady detective hasn't given up hope yet. While discussing the prospects for a Veronica Mars movie in an interview with the Huffington Post Kristen said, "We are still working on it! I don't know if it will ever come to be, but it's not off the table for me!"
Bell said that she's not the only one interested in a reunion movie. Series creator and executive producer Rob Thomas apparently also longs to do it but the cost of production would most likely run to a couple of million dollars. Convincing a studio to make a movie based on a three season TV series that never got terrific ratings in the first place is a formidable task. Bell actually offered to finance a movie herself in 2010 but couldn't quite convince Warner Bros. that the project was viable.
The fans who loved the show were die hard fans though. They saved the series from cancellation after its first season by overwhelming the United Paramount Network (UPN) with letters demanding a second season! So don't give up fans! It may yet happen! |
