I just read "Zero Day" by David Baldacci. It's about a special agent with the Army's Criminal Investigative Division who has uncanny crime solving abilities. You might say that it's an Army version of NCIS.
In this book he investigates the brutal killing of a Colonel in military intelligence who is about to retire. His entire family was killed along with him.
Was it just some nut case, someone with a grudge against him or maybe he knew too much about something for the intelligence community to allow him to retire?
The book is currently #1 on the New York Times best seller list.
