the iranian government seems to be steadfast in their desire to become a nuclear power. the european union's talking seems to be as successful with them as it was with Sadam Hussein ... absolutely worthless! and yet, they do nothing but more talk! this has now been going on for several years!!!!
what do you guys think? |

I'm just guessing, but I'd bet that U.S. and Israeli intelligence knows exactly how far along the Iranians capabilities are in nuke development and they are not overly concerned yet.
It is also probably known where any production facilities are and those facilities could be "taken out" right before they went online.
Therefore, it's probably considered wise to let the talking go on at this point and only resort to military options if absolutely neccessary.
That's my guess anyway. I can't imagine that the U.S. or Israelis would allow Iran to become a nuclear power. |

The real question is ... will the Europeans EVER conclude that force is necessary (assuming nothing else works) BEFORE they get the bomb? Or will they be asking for more talks as the first Iranian nuclear missile targeted at Jerusalem is in its final countdown?
And on the other side of the coin ... why aren't the U.S. and Russia and Britain, etc. doing more to reduce their missile/bomb stockpiles to set an example for a change? |

And now with their testing of a torpedo that can travel over 200 miles per hour underwater (aka: U.S. aircraft carrier buster) and their statements of, "We will become a nuclear power whether the West likes it or not" and "Israel must be destroyed", it's like they're just begging to get struck militarily!
It's not so much that anyone solely fears that Iran will use nukes themselves. It's also that Iran supplies terrorists with weapons! That is why the Western nations mostly agree that Iran WILL NOT be allowed to have nukes!
Whatever means it takes! They must not be allowed! Hopefully, they'll come to understand that reasoning and back down before force is the only option remaining! |

How did you like the welcome that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad got at Columbia University?
You're a despicable and evil tyrant President Ahmadinejad. We spit on you! We double-spit on you! Now welcome to Columbia University.
Man, I loved it!
Here's a photo of him at Columbia:
