Is it possible for me to put a picture of myself on my posts. I'm talking about tthe ones like johnmason has (the stargate sg1 cast) only I'd prefr to have my own photo.

Is that possible?

What you're asking about are called "Avatars". They're just itsy-bitsy pictures.

To get one, click on "Profile" at the top of any page. At the bottom of your profile page, you can select one in our gallery (very easy) or provide a url to one somewhere else (requires some computer skills).

If you provide your own Avatar, they are limited, at this board, to 80 pixels wide, 80 pixels tall, and the filesize can not exceed 5k.

Never mind! I see now that you have to select different categories at the top of the avatars' page. Embarassed

The "action series" avatars are just the default selection.

That's pretty slick. I'll have to see if I can set-up my own later with a beachy foto though.

Hi Everyone!

I am brand new here and I am trying to put an Avatar on my profile but "Crazy about TV" you say to click on Profile at the top of any page and I don't see that anywhere. I did manage to get into my profile by clicking on my name at the bottom where it tells who is visiting but there is no gallery at the bottom of my profile.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry beachgirl! That was my goof. We've been making some changes to the layout and html code of the forum and inadvertently removed the forum member options at the top of each page.

They've been replaced now. Leave a message if you have any further problems!

Thanks CrazyAboutTV I was hoping to use an off-site Avatar but I can't figure out how to do it so I may just use one from the gallery.

you just have to host a picture you can use many sites the one I use is htp://www.imageshack.us/ then you just upload your picture from werever you have it stored but as CAT mentioned the picture has to fit the sites dimensions so you might have to resize it. Once your picture is hosted then you just plug in the proper addy into the avatar spot in your profile.

I clicked on "Profile" like you said and all I get is a page where it wants me to type in a "username" and a "password". What's that alll about?

You have to register to get a username and password first. Use the "register" link at the top of any page.

Having a photo on your posts is just one of many benefits to registering and, it's painless and free (no catches ... REALLY!). Most boards won't even allow you to leave a message until you're registered.
