| The theme songs on our pages simply give the names of the composers and singers plus the lyrics are available in print only. There are no audio files, so you've done nothing wrong. |

I've seen the same wrong lyrics on every site I've seen the "Cheyenne" theme song lyrics...
First: A typo... it's "lonely man" not "loney man". I know, petty, LOL.
Second: In the second verse, second line, it's not-
"But will the while will one day see and you'll no longer roam".
It's:
"But will the wild wind one day cease and you'll no longer roam"?
Just thought you might want to correct this....

Thanks for the info! That one should definitely have been proofread better before being put online!
The lyrics have been corrected on our Cheyenne TV Show page. |

hello, to whomever corrects the lyrics for the 'theme songs'...
Bat Masterson is listed under the 1950's TV programs...
(not only did I watch this one, I still have the 45 record with a picture
of the future 'Amos Burke' on the cover)
the correct words are..
"and those with too ready a trigger,
forgot to figure, on his lightning fame"
(Now don't those words make a 'lot more
sense'?)
Glad to help |

Ok. This is wierd! You're definitely right about the lyrics we had on our Bat Masterson page being wrong. When I started checking for other sources to verify the wording you found, I couldn't find a second source.
What I did find was 5 or 6 different wordings for that line from different sources. The wording that occured most often was:
"and those with too ready a trigger,
forgot to figure, on his lightning cane"
That wording also seemed to make even more sense. So then I pulled out the half-dozen episodes of Bat Masterson that I have in my collection and "Cane" was definitely the word used on all of them.
Listen for yourself on this video segment at YouTube
I suspect that your wording might also be correct though. I've run into many examples where a show's theme lyrics have changed from one season to another.
Since I found many sources for "Cane" and only have one for "Fame", I have chosen to use "Cane" on our web page. Thank you in any case though as what we had on the page originally appears to have been totally bogus.
By the way ... we also had an entire paragraph missing before!!! That was one of our first pages at the site and there just weren't anywhere near as many ways to verify that stuff as there are nowadays. |

Why in the world would they change a theme song for a TV series? It seems like that would just confuse the fans and most people don't like change either! |
