| The first regular episode of the Gunsmoke radio show aired 60 years ago today on April 26, 1952! The radio version ran for 482 episodes and inspired the Gunsmoke TV show which ran for 622 episodes. |

30 years ago today on May 2, 1982 the Weather Channel began broadcasting in the U.S.
The first episode of the Jack Benny radio program aired 80 years ago today on May 2, 1932 and ran for a whopping 920 episodes! It inspired the Jack Benny TV show which aired for 16 years from 1949-1965! |
